Windows Media Player Plug-In for Safari

    I'm trying to get a Windows Media Player plug-in for Safari, but when it directs me to the Windows plug-in page it downloads some file that opens in the Text/Edit program. Same thing when I got it from Apple it tried to open in that rather than execute the install.

    What am I doing wrong or what can I do to make this work?

    For example...as redneck as this is, this is the only instance I can remember it always doing...I can't watch this video below:

    I downloaded Flip4Mac, but it doesn't help for stuff embedded does it?

    that's the setup i run on all my systems without issue...
