Hey i know this is a pretty simple question but i havent done anything with windows 98 for years...is the windows 98 cd bootable on its own or do you have to use a boot disk with it?

Win 98 is not bootable out of the box. Win 2000 was the first version that you could boot from. You can find instructions for making an all in one boot/win 98 install cd online though.

Depends. The upgrade disc is not bootable; the full install disc is bootable.

If you need to use an old operating system, you should use Windows NT 4.0. It's more stable than Windows 98.
