I have vista on my laptop and i'm sick of it. So I want to put windows 7 on it, but when it actually comes out i don't want to have to reinstall everything will i just be able to upgrade to the release version without having to start all over again? Also, does everyone think that the final release will be out before the beta version expires?

I've been hearing rumors online of a Sept 2009 shipping date for Windows 7... the beta is going to expire during the summer. Windows 7 isn't that much better than Vista... it's Vista without the problems, I guess. I'm running 7 beta on my desktop PC and it's pretty darn smooth but there are some hiccups... no problem gaming on it either.

I don't think you'd be able to upgrade from beta --> retail though

Once the beta expires, you'll HAVE to do a reinstall.

btw, your vista errors == user error

  6. vista does blow i will agree with you there, but you should prolly wait til the full version of 7 comes out... they will make the beta users reinstall prolly.
