I have an old computer running 98SE that my dad and sister are currently using. He says it does the job for him, but lately I've been noticing some system crashing and general slowdown. Slowdown is obviosuly expected, but they leave the PC on for days at a timeand sometimes 98 just cant handle it, especially when it comes time to reboot.

I'm thinking of upgrading them to 2K pro, nothing fancy just gets the job done. Here are the specs

    P2 333 MHz
    128 MB RAM
    40G HD
    etc...

Is this a good enough to run 2k smoothly. This comp will be used for word processing, net surfing, and telnet access.

    Thanks.

More ram and you should be ok, I'd recommend dumping another 256 in there.

128 is marginal for 2000. Double it and it should be OK.
