I've been meaning to get a 20" .44 mag lever action one of these days. I like the feel of the Marlin better then the Winchester, though the Winchester is still pretty nice. With all this talk about Winchester shutting down, I kind of feel guilty for only owning one Winchester, and it's a .22. How do the two guns compare?

I have also been considering getting the Trapper 16" 94 rather than the 20". It's 4 inches shorter, but only has an 8 round magazine vs. the 10 rounds of the 20" model.

i got something to explain to you.

go with marlin. ive spent the past 3 1/2 weeks trying to find a winchester. they are completely sold out. everywhere. all dealers, wholesalers. everyone.

i did find one, man. in 1948 NIB, did you hear me? NNNIIIIBBBBB for a 1948 1894. they want $750........

if you can find a used winchester go with it or marlin, it doesnt matter. they both shoot the same.

    id go with anything winchester

That almost doesn't seem like a bad deal for a NIB 1948 model, that's back when they knew how to build them :o

:werd: Sounds like a decent price to me for a NIB of that vintage, I'de probably go with the Marlin if I was buying new, Winchester if its a pre64.

Fuck that, it's not all that old, or all that expensive, I'd use it. Collecting firearms is worthless in my opinion.

I've seen a few Trappers going for $500 on Gunbroker, I might go for one of those.
