    I'm trying to add a parameter to a shortcut of an older program that I had to install via XP Mode but am currently using in "seamless mode" of Win7.

    In windows 7 the target appears like:

    Typically, I would just add something like - "server: 192.168.10.1" at the end of the target outside the quotes, for example:

    Thanks in advance for any suggestions / ideas :x:

    I've run into this with scheduled tasks and it was a simple matter of adding double quotes inside of the quote portion:

    %SystemRoot%\system32\rundll32.exe %SystemRoot%\system32\VMCPropertyHandler.dll,Launc hVMSal "Windows XP Mode" "||16f41776" ""Nav "server: 192.168.10.1""

    Thanks for getting back to me, but it didn't seem to work...

    Here is a list of parameters:
    http://santoshkmrsingh.blogspot.com/2007/12/creating-navision-shortcuts.html

    The one I want to use is not server: but instead is servername=...

    So my shortcut target is:

    %SystemRoot%\system32\rundll32.exe %SystemRoot%\system32\VMCPropertyHandler.dll,LaunchVMSal "Windows XP Mode" "||16f41776" ""Nav" "servername=192.168.10.1""

    When I try to run it I get this error:

    Anymore ideas??? Thanks.

    Whoops - try one less quote - remove the one after Nav. Actually in this case since the argument no longer has a space, you can remove the double quotes too:

    %SystemRoot%\system32\rundll32.exe %SystemRoot%\system32\VMCPropertyHandler.dll,Launc hVMSal "Windows XP Mode" "||16f41776" "Nav servername=192.168.10.1"
