i have just seen thhe trailer and it looks soooo weird. with the way the portrayed willy wonka i don't think johnny depp was a good choice they should have stuck with marylin manson.

i am not sure of the rulles here about posting links i'm off to read them now.

so just do a search and you will find it.

comes out june or july 2005 so not too too long of a wait.

Are you serious? If you don't like Burton movies... you probably wont like this one. You don't like Edward Scissorhands? Batman? The Nightmare Before Christmas? What movies do you like?

    For those that don't know....

The movie is following the book more than the origonal movie did. Things like the candy boat, oompa loompas (in the book, they aren't orange alien people), and the psychotic/darkness are making a return in the new movie. I think it looks amazing, and I always trust the Johnny Depp/Tim Burton combo.

Same here. Even the song in the trailer set my nerves on edge.

I hated Edward Scissorhands, Batman and Planete of the Apes so yes i am serious when i say that the chances of me liking this movie are slim to none.

I love the original, and I usually love Tin Burton movies, but I'm not sure how I feel about this re-make so far. The trailer was different than I expected, and I think it dissapointed me.

It is NOT A REMAKE. It's a re-visioning of the book. The first movie was a family movie compared to the book, which is more psychotic and dark. It seems that Tim/Johnny are covering the feel of the book very well.

Roald Dahl played a large part in the direction of the first film so it would capture the essence of his book. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was "a re-visioning of the book" as you put it, it was a musical though. I expect Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to be strictly a movie rather than musical, therefore, depicting the book more acurately. It's a remake though :)
