Prolly not. Its been in dev for what... 3 years?
Who gives a fuck? Just use Pidgin.
pidgin is absolute trash.
If it were, you'd be absolutely right.
pidgin = the dumbed down version of trillian.
use adium instead
Trillian = the dolled-up version of Pidgin with useless extra features and the inability to transfer files between users 75% of the time.
Never heard of it. Link?
Oddly enough, file transfers work perfectly on Skype.
So what was supposed to be the big deal with Astra, anyway?
It was just the next version, with a fancy new name. They stopped dev on regular trillian like... 5 years ago. Feels like its been decades at this point. They kept touting that Astra was going to be the best thing ever. It might be... but we've never even gotten a beta, so no one will ever know.
That's because Pidgin stole the ball and ran with it.
I'm still using Miranda. I tried Trillian (too unstable and flakey at times and also had that bloated feel when I first used it; probably lots better now), GAIM (now Pidgin), but I've always come back to Miranda.
Would definitely have to say that all the multi-protocol clients are still lacking in a lot of ways, mostly in keeping up with the multimedia capabilities of the native clients, but that's a hard ask.
