so i finish my workout at my gym yesterday and ask the person at the front desk if they measure body fat, he says yes. then one of the workers comes out with this bullshit device, in which you type in your age, height, and weight. then you hold onto it with your hands on these metal parts and it measures your body fat:rofl::rofl::hsugh::rofl::rofl:

i asked him how accurate it was and he tells me its accurate down to .5%. there is no way that device works, so i was wondering if those calipers would give me a good reading on my bf

No way. Body hydration alone can throw those things totally out of whack.

i'd bet a visual estimation would be more accurate then those shitty calipers.

i bought these about a year ago and they consistent if nothing else. It told me I was at 7% at one point though and I think I was closer to 10-11% so they may read a little low. Anyhow it will calculate BF for you given your measurements or you can take the measurements it gives you (in mm) and calculate it yourself. It also comes with a pretty handy little measuring tape.

he mentioned that its more accurate if i was well hydrated. i was at the time, but i certainly doubt the results it produced.

btw, it said i was 7.9%

im sure some of you have seen my pics and even i dont think im that low.
