I want a macbook and this is the only thing stopping me from buying one. I don't want some integrated shit, so if they decide to use a seperate video card then i'll buy it. do you guys think this will ever happen?

The MBP is bigger though, I went with the MB based solely on size.

The widescreen on the Macbook pro is AMAZING. It feels SO big, my friend has a 17inch laptop thats not widescreen and when put next to each other my screen looks and feels a lot bigger.

It's the budget line, for people that want a nice OSX machine to do multimedia stuff on and to play some light games.

Just like any other maker, you need to step up in price to get better graphics.

I will never be able to justify spending an extra grand on a little bigger screen, bigger harddrive and a video card.

I think there are just as many people who would have a hard time justifying the hundreds of thousands of dollars that go in to a excessively luxurious car like a Ferrari as well.

Actually, I take that back. It's infinitely more difficult to justify the purchase of a Ferrari than it is a Macbook Pro.

That aside, I don't think you'll see an improved video card in the consumer line of laptops until the operating system is improved to the point that it can not run well on integrated graphics alone.

I don't see the regular Macbook getting an update till the new Intel chipsets come out with the upgraded integrated graphics.
