I've been noticing my gut gettin a little bigger recently (evil pizza.. but I am eating healthier) and I was wondering if just doing sit-ups on a daily basis (probably 200 a day) will help get rid of this excess weight? I am a noobie when it comes to working out so I don't know if there are any other alterate ways to get rid of this weight easily.

note: can't afford a gym membership so I am stuck with basic exercies

    Thanks :)

If it matters, I am about 5'10", 190lbs

go run, it's free, and good for ya, try HIIT it will help you lose fat

and no doing sit ups won't show a 6 pack, you will still show the keg :mamoru:

Doing situps can, and will, strengthen and enlarge your ab muscles, but they will do nothing for the fat that is hiding them. The only way to get rid of your gut (and other fat on your body) is to lose weight in general, by eating less the maintenance calories, doing some sort of cardiovascular work, or a combination of both.

lol Nah its not from a keg :)

Yea I have obviously noticed I was getting stronger, but I didn't know if it just took a while til the fat started going away. I definatly should start running though.. been procrastinating lol. I am trying to make my diet a little more well rounded and healthy as well. Thanks guys!

and theres no need to do 200 a day. A good set should do the trick.
