I'm taking my car(02 camaro SS) to the drag strip tonight. Nobody believes me when I say that I can run in the 13's. I'm not a pro, but i've done intake and exhaust to it. Also I have 315's for tires. What do you think??

You should be running mid 13's stock, and I'm sure the intake and exhaust will knock another couple tenths off, as long as you dont drive like a sissy ;b

If you've never raced before you might screw up the first few runs, but within a few tries you should easily be in the 13s. My completely stock times are in sig.

You BETTER be in the 13s. If your at a good altitude, you should be low 13s if you can hit your shift points good if you have an M6. And launch is always important as well.

My corrected time in my LT1 Corvette is 13.7 and I am stock, right down to the paper filter...well almost, I have dual flowmasters, so you should be stomping me in that mean LS1. Have fun and let us know what you ran!

i ended up running a 14.1 i know that sucks but i did leave my 250lbs. worth of stereo in my car just cuz its a pain to take it out and i'm not sure what are good shift points. any suggestions as when to shift? also my first time so i got real nervous. i'm gunna go to the track sometime soon and take out the stereo so i'll let you know how that goes

When you launch what were you dumping at? Most people experiment at around 2500 RPMs. And your shift points...a lot of guys shift at close to redline, but not in the red, so get those Rs pretty high before shifting

    That car should hit 12.80 - > 13.40 stock.

    But, apparently you can't drive.

    Buy a honda already... :o

But seriously, just practice on empty roads..

Alotta harsh mofos up in here. Just practice. It's hard to launch an M6 and not spin the shit outta the tires (or bog). Your time isn't really that bad for a first timer. Also, don't floor it immediately after you launch. If you're going to try launching @ 2500 RPM, make sure it's actually 2500 RPM and not the pedal on the floor right after you pop/slip the clutch. Good luck!

Also, what do people mean by corrected time? Do they just subtract their RT from what they ran?

    ???

Launching a 2000? What gear, 5th? Practice that launch. You have a decent rear end, even 3500 would be pretty safe not to break anything, but 14's DAMN!!!

I figure you beat have the people there though. At least you got to drive your car home. Some of those goobers spend all their money just to blow the rear end on the line.

Practice over and over...and buy a Stang!

I launch at 1500 in my brothers 96 Trans Am and my friends 99 SS.
I shift at 6K in the T/A and 6700 in the SS. Both have the rev limiter raised.
When the 99 was bone stock last fall, I ran a 13.3 @ 108 with a 2.2 60ft time (Eagle F1's suck big time) on street tires. Not bad considering that my only seat time that day was driving down the staging lanes. :)
