Baseline weight 3 weeks ago: 228(big beer belly, man tits, lots of body fat)
    weight 6/8: 223
    weight 6/15: 219

Exercise: 10 or 14 mile bike ride (45 or 65 min) about 5 days/wk. If the weather is shitty I will do 30 minutes weights and 30-45 minutes on the elliptical instead, but I prefer riding my bike, so I do that more often

    Example daily diet:

My diet is pretty damn consistent and wont deviate from that more than ~10%. The foods/values are as close as i could find on fitday, I wasnt gonna go through my kitchen and enter all the food I eat...but thats close.

I'm a vegetarian and getting protein is tough :sad2:

So if I keep doing what I'm doing, will I hit my first goal of 210lbs in 3 more weeks?

    cheese
    eggs
    cottage cheese
    yogurt
    tofu
    soymilk
    beans
    steel cut oats
    "high protein" wheat bread

    Fail.

You'll be close in 3 weeks. My initial reaction is drop your carbs, 390 seems really high. And up your protein to like 140-170 a day. But with all your biking and no weight lifting maybe it's ok. You could probably go to 2000 calories a day without much trouble.

 no shit, i eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch  But I work 60 hrs/wk so a finely tuned diet isnt my first priority.

    heres my usual day:

7:15 - 2-3 egg whites and 1/2 cup steel cut oats
11:00 - high fiber granola bar + yogurt
1:30 - PBJ and an apple
    3:15 - banana
5:00 - fat free cottage cheese + pineapple
    8:00 - 1.5 cups rice+black beans + tofu + onions + cheese

Its not easy to drop carbs when you dont eat meat, most of my meals are starches and fruit/veggies. I'm going to grab some protein powder with my next check and try to balance things out with that.

If I'm already losing weight eating this way, will making protein a bigger part of my diet help me lose more? Isnt 4 lbs in a week kind of alot already?

if I were you I'd get a protein supplement (soy if necessary, but if you can take whey then use it) and start eating better carbs... if you're at 390g carbs per day and you're only getting 43g dietary fiber you're eating some crappy carbs. Whole grains, beans, etc have much more fiber than whatever you're eating.

as i said, those are just estimates based on what was already loaded on fitday. I definitely get more fiber than that. I eat brown rice, high fiber wheat bread and high fiber granola bars. Plus I think steel cut oats have a decent amount of fiber. I really try to eat quality food.

    Potentially.

There's something to be said for "if it ain't broke don't fix it," but some more protein and fewer carbs shouldn't hurt.

We don't know how tall you are, or what you look like, so you could easily be at a body fat percentage where 4 pounds a week is perfectly acceptable.

Also, theoretically, your diet now isn't helping you preserve muscle mass. Some of the weight you're losing could be muscle mass. More protein helps keep that muscle mass around, and causes your body to focus on using fat for fuel.

In reality, the difference is probably minimal. I don't have the expertise, nor the information about you, to really say for sure.

Instead of estimates, get it accurate. It'll help us more.

Greek yogurt and the Harvest Grains Blend from Trader Joe's were literally lifesavers when I was on a vegetarian diet for a month.

    Esp. Greek yogurt. FUUUUUUUUU

Fuck your diet is a piece of shit. I literally want to piss on it and throw it at you.

Stop eating so many fucking carbs and start eating like a man. Eat a fucking steak or two every day like we all do and maybe you'll stop withering away into a skinnyfat twink.

If you're vegetarian, EAT QUINOA AS A PROTEIN SOURCE.

it's the only complete natural veggie protein source. (although, you can get veggie protein mixes that cover all the amino acids and come from various veggie sources)

Seriously though, at least get some protein powder, or as mentioned, fat free Greek yogurt since it's low in carbs and high in protein. Most of your calories should be coming from protein...it has the highest thermic effect of all food sources and will rev your metabolism up quite a bit, in addition to preserving muscle mass.

    :ugh:

Yeah it's a complete protein, but 109g carbs for every 24g protein? On a cut, no thanks.
