    Hey guys,

I do alot of cardo. 5-7 miles running a day and sometime machines and whatnot.......

I burn easily 600-800 calories per day, sometimes more. I do daily workouts but after reading some posts, I'm concerned that my muscle growth will not come as I want it with my diet and cardio scheme....

I do eat healthy. Lots of protein, low carbs, high fiber, but I really do not eat a ton everyday. I would think most days I get around 1800 calories or so maybe less.

Is there something else I can be doing to help keep my muscle build up? I take protein shake after every workout but no creatine or cell mass or what not.

    Thanks, Zach

EAT EAT EAT. THEN EAT SOME MORE. THEN THROW IT UP AND THEN EAT THAT AND EAT SOME MORE AFTER THAT.

How can you expect to grow if you want to starve yourself?

Yes everyday. I'm not looking to be a body builder, but since I'm not in there doing guge weight either, I don't want the cardio to kill my muscle gain. Maybe I'm making no sense.

I just see some of yalls diets and think there is no way in hell I could eat that much and keep my body where I want it to be.

    What I do...

    Eat ~2800-3000 calories a day. Lift heavy 3-4x a week, run 2 miles 2-3x a week.

I know, seriously. That would suck.

(fyi, bench has gone up by 50lbs, deads by 30ish, and front squats by 20ish since october  - i don't know how long those numbers will keep going up now that i'm running again...i guess i need to eat more)

My workouts are kind of weird now, I don't actually have a regular routine. But I generally do 5x5 or 10-12 rep range for 3-4 sets for bench.

With deads, I usually go heavy and with squats I tend to go light with more reps per set.

    Oh, haha, my bad.

Flat Bench, 185lbs for 5x5 on my last set.
Deads, 275-300lbs (depending on how good I'm feeling) for 5x5 on my last set
    Front squats, 135-155lbs for 3x10

he's about the same as you but he weighs around 235... his goal is to loose weight but it went up while he was lifting so he's gonna drop lifting all together and restrict his diet and up the cardio :dunno:

Why drop the weights? Maybe reduce the total amount, but I would imagine lifting would help in the weight loss department and probably be good in the long-term.

I mean, I dropped from ~200lb (all fat) to ~140lb (no muscle) in 3 months without lifting weights, but I was weak as hell when I finally did start, and I GREATLY regretted not lifting to begin with.

Tell him he'll regret it later if he doesn't start now.

    I fluctuate between 160-170lbs nowadays.
