Thinking of getting one to shoot does with. I don't know much about the Mannlicher stocks. Any real chance of the barrel contacting the stock, or will the ~4" difference in barrel length make much of a difference?

I want the same rifle but without irons. Do a lot of people hunt without scopes?

If it's inletted well it shouldn't be an issue.

Yep. Never really a good idea to have a bunch of shit rubbing/brushing up against your barrel. If I had to guess, I'd say it won't be FF from the factory. This could/probably will affect accuracy to at least some degree (look for strange fliers), though it's hard to say if you will notice it or not.

I'd seal the wood, and FL bed it at the least if it were mine.

A lot of people don't anymore but there's nothing wrong with it assuming you know your limits. I have a peep sight on my model 70 and thinks it's pretty fun to use.

Yep, that was pretty much what I was trying to convey.

    Well put.
