I'm ordering a new belt and sending in my Beltman belt to be shortened. I was going to order another Beltman bullhide, but figured that I wear my shirts untucked 99% of the time, so I don't necessarily need another nice leather belt because no one ever sees it. My Beltman does NOT have the stiffener, but it is plenty stiff without it.

I'm going get a 1.5" Instructor belt, but I'm not sure if I should go with the 5-stitch or the CSM (with the polymer stiffener). It will be carrying a Glock 19 in either a SSII or MTAC

I already have a 1.75" Wilderness CSM (with the stiffener) that I used for USPSA for a while, and it used to dig into my hips like crazy... but it also usually had a Glock 17, 5 loaded mags, a timer and a mult-tool hanging off of it so that isn't really a realistic evaluation for EDC.

I have a 1.5" 5 stitch no stiffener and it has worked great for edc.

I use to carry w/ my 5-stitch a lot. It might be worth trying a CSM tho.

Ordered the 1.5" CSM in black. I think it will be fine... my 1.75" CSM is really no stiffer than my Beltman bullhide.

In related news, Wilderness sells a belt buckle that is $1400. I thought long and hard on it before deciding to pass.
