My friend's aunt asked me about installing a wifi spot at her restaurant so business customers can sit down and use their laptops. What kind of router should I recommend? I'm probably going to have to install it for her...is there anything I need to know that's different from installing a home router? Security is a must of course. Thanks in advance for any advice :)

get a seperate circuit for it, not on the same network/internet that they use for the business end of it. any router will work, and for liability sake, get one with parental controls built in and disable access to adult content, sending email, etc.

you want a router that is supported by DD::WRT (such as the Linksys WRT54Gv4).

Then you can use a hotspot firmware like DD::WRT w/Sputnik.

How is the Linksys' range? I think she would want the router installed in the manager's office, is the signal going to be able to get through?
