    okay so i have all these wifi cards. tonight i finally have some time on my hands and decided to compare them using netstumbler's s/n meter. here are the (surprising) results ...

    your standard netgear pcmcia nic (wg511)

    the orinoco gold classic (with antenna port, no antenna attached)

    the orinoco gold a/b/g ($120?) - yeah this is the shit

    now here is the surprise. a fucking d-link dwl-650. cheapest card of the lot. chipset compatible with freebsd (only reason i bought it - who knew)

    i can't speak for their routers. seriously i was scared to buy the card because it was so cheap. i would love to test an aironet too, but haven't got one of those.
