In Win 9x, you can find a shadow of devices that you had installed even after removing it by going into safe mode, but in Win XP, once you install something, the driver file gets embedded in system somewhere and it becomes very difficult to remove.

How can I remove a WiFi card driver COMPLETELY so I can reinstall it from scratch in Windows XP SP2?

I had WiFi card working just fine, but after I re-located to a different PCI so cables from other cards don't interfere with the card, the driver stopped working properly. I uninstalled it from Windows, then try to reinstall driver, but it will not install properly and I get this error every time

You can go into device manager to force it install a drive that you pick.
