She spent a few hours with Paul Gomez working on trigger control, drawstroke (mostly counts 2, 3 and 4 since i doubt she'll be carrying on her person), maybe purse, trigger reset, focus, etc. She's doing much better and did quite well considering this was only her fourth time ever shooting a handgun. they couldn't really work on retention shooting since the range was open to the public so we couldn't go past the barrier.

first time was with me prepping her for the firing portion of her ccw, second was ccw, third was last week and fourth was yesterday.

i'm trying to convince her to take the louis awerbuck handgun class with me in may but she's still a little nervous about shooting around other people. hopefully she can work that out.

unfortunately i don't have any more pics because her camera died and apparently her spare battery wasn't charged. :squint:

    pictures are in chronological order.

Kick ass man. I would love to get my SO into shooting more.

She has a huge apprehension and I don't want to force anything. She didn't even like shooting my MKIII. I don't think I could get any more subtle than that.

Are those bullet holes on the ceiling above the target?

She could use a better grip. Support hand looks real low. The higher you get your support hand the more leverage you get to manage recoil. The thumbs forward modern iso is the best grip/stance.

Also looks like she is leaning backwards but started to get better in later pics. She should lean forward or what I call a puncher's stance.

You're lucky to have him local. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of training and tactics. DO NOT get fashion advice from him (but you knew that already).

My wife kicked ass her first day at the range. She was totally incontrol of herself, followed the 4 rules PERECTLY, never pointed the gun at anything ut the target, exercised great trigger finger control, and produced excellent tight groups.
