I am going to be getting a 56 " wide screen tv and want to know if there are any problems with hooking up my ps2 to it. I heard that the projection type screens can be ruined by some ps2 games. Does anyone have their ps2 hooked up to a wide screen and if so have you experienced any problems?
    Thanks Luc

I think the problem is that some games have items on-screen for a long time. Like HUD's, health bars etc.

Ive heard screens dont like that, particularly rear projection.

I've had my Ps2 hooked up to my widescreen for the past month. No problems. I personally limit my play to an hour at a time and watch a movie (just to get a completely different input into the TV for a period of time), before playing the PS2 again. Be very conscious of how much time you play, especially during the TV's break-in period.

I personally think games are better on a 4:3 screen

its not ps2, it's any game system in general. Rear projection tv's do not like to spit out the same color for long periods of time as it wears out the projectors quicker. Also watching anythign with black bars is bad (unless it isn't scanned as are some sonys - probably a few others too).
