Why do they leave the black triangles in the corner of the picture? is there a way to avoid it? ive got a sony dsc-h9 and i got a wide lens for it, i had a wide angle for my old camera dsc-w7 also but it never had the triangles in the corner of the pictures...how do i avoid it?

have you gone through the menu and set the lens to Wide angle so it knows that? it doesnt detect it, so its probably just the lens showing up in the pics

If it's one of those screw on wide angle adapters, then it's too thick/small for your camera. The only way to fix it is to use a different wide angle adapter.

They are there for composition and drama. Think of em as a built-in border.

i set the camera to wide conversion lens mode...and all it did was make it so instead of having 15x zoom, it has like 2x...

The camera is seeing the edges of the lens or lens hood. Try to zoom the lens in just a little to crop it out. However, doing so may negate the whole purpose of a wide angle lens in the first place.

i zoomed in as far as it lets me in "wide lens" mode and it cuts out all of the "bored" and its still wide angle compared to using the camera without the lens...so i guess it works :dunno:

As long as you're happy with the results then it works just fine.
