I know, but if you knew how close I was standing, you'd expect major distortion. Hell I like the effect.

I have a pincushion plugin for PS that might fix the distortion. I'll have to look and see if I can find it if you want it.

pictures are :bigthumb:. Love the lighting in the first one.
We have a place JUST like that here, but I can't get to it without getting trespassed I think...still active FEC railway around there :hsugh:

that lens is really clear, and really fast, despite what the f numbers may indicate.
given the short focal lengths, the shutter speed doesn't need to be very fast...

forget about using flash though. the edges remain dark.
even with the 580ex automatically adjusting the flash, the widest coverage is 14mm...

i think it was the second lens i bought.

i took my camera gear to the lakers game and the 10-22 was the only lens they would let me bring into the game.

from the b level booth (warner brothers) this is the closest i can get.

Isn't their requirement something like barrel length and not focal length? :dunno:

focal length of less than 300mm
barrel length of less than 3.5 inches, or the length of their id badges.

i walked up with the 70-200 attached and a 24-70 in my pocket...

by the way, we saw jerry buss.
he rolled up with his chauffer in this cl500 with SPINNERS!! :squint:

that would make my 70-300 look just right then! :mamoru:

I'd love to get a lens like that but $1000 isn't exactly something I can spare now after spending what I did on the camera itself.

Distortion or more specifically barrel distortion usually occurs at wider focal lengths. Lines that should be linear appear to be curved or the image looks bloated. There are several programs that can correct this distortion, if you want to correct it, that is.

http://epaperpress.com/ptlens/ PTlens is a popular free tool.

DxO is another tool which is not free but regarded by some as others (while some thing PTlens is better)..
