Why do people buy pistols with extended and threaded barrels, with no intention of ever buying silencers for them?

Why do people put vertical foregrips and bipods on the same rifles?

because it works quite well as a counter sniper and varmint rifle.

Here's one. Why do people buy parts and equipment that only a swat or special ops team would use in full combat just for a range gun?

actually, i'm a personal fan of those who get an 11-12" barrel and a 5" flash hider to make it legal length

Part of it might be for pure resale value. I know there have been times where I've made sure to get an item knowing its function didn't appeal to me, but it would help keep resale up.

As for vertical foregrips and bipods... I can see that only if they're not being used at the same time. Different tools for different conditions, I guess.

Bipods are useful for bench shooting, although most ranges will have benchrests and sandbags available if they insist you shoot from the bench.

So, uh ... I guess I didn't really make a point there after all.

Not sure what the deal is with veritcal foregrips. Never used a rifle with one, but it seems like they would make it harder to aim and control.

As for the threaded/extended barrells ... I'm sure that a large percentage of those dips have "plans" for homemade suppressors that revolve around cutting up used tin cans and stuffing the lining with oversize washers for baffles and filling the voids with steel wool.

    foregrips are too 'tacticool'

I can see where a MP5K needs one and 11" barrel M4 entry carbines might be useful (ie. CQB) however for the most part, they are 'rifle rice'
