WOW. I reload, and that is insane. What was he thinking? Why would you increase a load 70%? The guy is lucky it didn't throw shrapnel into his face (unless it did).

I suppose you're right. It is a good reminder of how important it is to check your scale carefully when loading.

How would he know that he loaded it with 17 grains after it was fired? I'm not too informed on reloading. :hs:

I guess if you load a couple of different calibers or different powders on the same caliber, you could have your scale set for the wrong powder. It is hard to imagine that the spread on powder charges for a particular caliber is that broad though. I load .308, and the difference in baseline charges from powder to powder is usually only 10%-15% at most for the same grain bullet.

He was probably aiming for 10.7 grains and had his beam scale put set to 10, 7, and 0 instead of 10, 0 and 7 (if you get me)

Yeah, that seems the most likely scenario.

I have never reloaded, but I find it kind of hard to believe in a 10mm casing that there is room for a 70% increase in the charge without having to compact the powder a bit.

I guess the lesson is to check what you are doing every step of the way

thats one of the reasons i use powders that arent dense and will overflow the case on a double or just about anything above. i also LOOK in my cases to see.

Being a glock doesn't matter any gun would of blown being overloaded like that, even if john moses browning built it by hand himself.

nevermind, I was looking at the parts and not the gun as a whole.
