Why wont my mac connect to the network?

    I am snowboarding and there is wireless all around but for some reason i cant connect with my 12 in pb. My airport shows that i have connection but for some reason i cant connect to the internet or get mail or any other internet using program.

    Any suggestions

    Does the network have a WEP key? Is it protected?

    no its completly un protected networks im posting from my brothers laptop with no problem... he has a thinkpad

    and also i just connected to one of those pay to use the internet from the resort so the airport is working

    Does it give back a specific error?

    it just says that it is connected to the network and has assigned an ip but it may not be able to connect to the internet:wtf:

    my school's network shows that you're on and have an IP but won't let you access anything until you put your username and password on their systems homepage. this network may need you to do something similar to that
