In the topic. I got the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X869 CD/MP3 Reciever and the radio and all works great, sound is excellent but it won't play any CDs no matter what kind it is. Just says CD ERROR. Any reason why its doing it other than the cd player is broken?

If you have the manual it should talk about the error code it gives and what causes them. It sounds like something is broken or messed up. The only thing i can think of that might be a problem you can fix would be a dirty laser. You can get a cd player cleaner cd for about $5 that has little brushes on it that will dust off the laser lens, but that may or may not help. Contacting kenwood would also be recommended. They know alot more about their products than anyone else.

I hate to say it but it sounds broken - i think the chances cleaning the lens will fix everything are small - but worth a shot for a few bucks. Note: if the cd player was from a dusty, sandy, or otherwise dirty environment the chances the cleaning will work are greater.
