:ugh2: is it just because the shit is tacticool? isn't there other companies that make the same type of gear for a LOT fucking less? jesus christ, their "summer specials" are outrageous

and it's not over engineered. it's over designed.

what do you have and is it worth it? looking at one of their hoodies, or a fleece for this coming fall/winter. yes, they look damn good, but is it worth it

nah, this stuff is engineered obviously, that's why it's so expensive

I have the Ranger hoodie and the AAC jacket

    they are both neat

warm? are they actually much more ergonomic while shooting? or do you just have them because they're "neat" and tacticool?

    It's warm for a softshell.

I dunno if it's more ergonomic - I have it because I like the way it looks, and I have the AAC one because I like the design and logo.

I don't really care much about tacticool stuff - I already have all the best shit and really, the only people who have better, neater shit than me are super super rich or on an ODA - so I am cool with that.

Besides, I had the Mountain Hardware G20 and Alchemy before they were tacticool.

really worth the price though? (i am a cheap ass) I really love how the stuff looks. I absofuckinglutely love the way they designed the hoods, so they're inconspicuous (I fucking HATE hoods that I have to unzip if I don't need them, or they fucking hang around, get caught in the wind, etc)

Ummmm, I think it's worth it - but that's all relative.

    I really like it.

I wear my Mountain Hardware G20 more though - it does not have a hood, just a high collar.

I wear it with a Mountain Hardware Dome Perignon.

I actually have that jacket on in my profile pic if you wanna check it out.

I think I have that same MH one. Replaced my TNF Denali (wore a few of them for years and the quality went to fucking shit).

Just don't know if the accountant will let me justify this. they have a couple good deals on their closeout rack. hrm.

what size are you btw? I am 5'4", usually wear Medium stuff. If I am going to order something and not be able to return it, want to make it correct

EDIT: the G20 is just fleece though, correct? At least that's what mine is (can't remember the model). I want something that is more of a shell, kinda like the Stealth Hoodie: http://www.tadgear.com/x-treme gear/apparel main/stealth_hoodie_classic.htm

seems like it is more of a shell with an inner that is soft like fleece. I hate having to wear the fleece and then something over it when it gets below zero

I have the side tensioners all the way down so that it's skin tight - I basically had to get an XL for length, not girth. I am not the most fit person out there, but I am not fat by any stretch.

    good luck with that

that's why I made the thread. I like the look of some of their stuff, but some of the prices are just outrageous. but I think with the discounted stuff.....I just might order something. going to have to figure out size tomorrow, and if the stuff I might want is still there, then

:rofl: a client of mine who owed me $2k from December finally got around to paying me. We were at a mutual wedding last weekend and on Tuesday he stopped by and dropped off an Omega Seamaster Pro 45.5. I am such a cheap ass, I am thinking of selling it and making a few grand :mamoru:

I have no idea what that would be worth but I know Omegas are nice.

I own a Japanese Seiko Kinetic that I never wear...it doesn't even fit. Has four too many links. I used to be really fat.

    Not into watches.

    http://www.authenticwatches.com/22005000.html :coolugh:

he knows I collect watches. I've got a Marathon US-only issue that I  that I was able to acquire from my wife's cousin who's a marine. fucking love that thing.

just another reason my accountant (wife) doesn't like my hobbies very much, and she has turned me into a cheap bastard

    that's cool

sell the watch and get the TAD Ranger hoodie and then come out to SHOT 2010 and we can ball out and get wasted and make a lot of poor choices, it'll be neat

last time I was there I got so drunk I almost got into a street fight (I would have won) and the dude said he was a reincarnated wizard and I said that I would defeat him because my aura was particularly orange

    yeah, I know :hsugh:

I'm pretty much a 5.11 whore myself but I've been thus since way back before they got all kinds of nutty because my birthday is 5-11 thus I endorsed.

I love their saber jacket and I got like 11ty billion pairs of their academy shorts for shooting. They make the best shorts/pants for gun games in my opinion.

I also like to tell the tactical testical crowd when they run the gamer jibber jabber.

"Fuck you I'm so tactical my birthday is 5. mother fucking 11 you fucking poser!"
