I've noticed almost everyone that posts uses nikon gear, even some posts about people going from canon to nikon.

any particular reason? Is nikon really that much better in quality than canon?

People tend to 'feel' that the more they spend on gear, the better their pictures will turn out.

I'd say it's still 50/50 Canon/Nikon in here. Some people jumped ship (present company included) because they were disappointed in the 5d mk II, but there is still plenty of Canon stuff that I miss. I much prefer the Canon lens lineup.

i chose Nikon soley on ergonomics. They pretty much take identical pictures.

I just jumped ship to the 5D2. Couldn't be happier.

Nikon did have better ergonomics on the non-standard gripped bodies, but there's something nice about the Canon bodies that I can't put my finger on.

Also, I much prefer the Canon lens lineup like Mutombo.

People just like to bust each other's balls. It's how it's done here.

i'm familiar with the ball busting of OT..

most posts that state gear are nikon

figured i'll hear it eventually since i have a canon xs

I'm just not brave enough to post pics yet, you guys can be brutal.

i know canon blows at budget lenses. they cant touch the nikon 35 1.8 for $200 or the 55-200 VR for $225. both those lenses are fantastic for the price

I rather people be brutal than leave no comments at all :wtc:

I made two previous threads with 0 comments.

I really wish you'd stop posting here. You are an idiot. The Canon 55-250 IS is easily the equal of the 55-200 vr. The 35 1.8 is a decent little lens, but the CA is horrible and I wouldn't say that it's "tack" or "razor" sharp wide open like many of the recent posts here would lead us to believe.

And I'd also say that Canon has far more quality "budget" lenses than Nikon. Where are the f/4 zooms in the Nikon lineup?

sorry to upset your delicate vagina. wasnt aware of the 55-250

and yes the 35 1.8 is razor sharp and stomps over anything close in that price range for nikon

Are you trying to help your cause by posting a soft snapshot of a plant with blown red highlights?

I never said the 35 1.8 was a piece of shit. I said it was a decent little lens for the price.

probably boils down to hand comfort on the camera. the d90 feels like it was molded for my hand. the 50d doesnt feel so nice

for what it is worth, I love my Canon XS..

I've had canon point and shoots for a long time now, finally got a dslr and i'm having fun getting back into photography.. I just need to improve and gain some more confidence in my shots.

I have the 55-200 and it is great, a little slow as it isn't usm but the IS helps a lot with distance shots.

Quite frankly I find this sub forum useless other than to see if any canon items possible come up for sale. :)
