I am getting the message that my computer is low on resources lately and I am not sure why it is doing this. When i leave my computer for a couple of hours without using it is when it happens. Anyone have a idea why it is doing this???

What OS are you using? Windows 95-MEish have been known to have some noticable memory leaks.

Are you running Windows XP and MySQL?

Like Ractoon said; either get NT based OS like Win2000 or XP and forget about memory leaks or if you're already running either of those, make sure there aren't any background services running up the memory tab.

Increase your Virtual Memory to see if that helps. Right click MY COMPUTER / PROPERTIES and look for Page File or Virtual Memory 2 fold.

Other useful information could also be how much RAM you have

hey, sorry to be bringing this up from the dead, but i was wondering what i could do about a warning that i keep getting saying that i'm running low on virtual memory. i have XP, and 256 MB RAM. if there is anything else you need to know then just ask.

also, it seems that my computer still works fine even though i get that error, although maybe a bit slower. but i was wondering if there are any long term effects of getting this error all the time.
