... I always feel like I'm going to get sick somewhere during the workout... Usually around the time I get to doing squats. :barf:

If I don't feel that way at some point during my leg work out I feel like I cheated myself.

My stomach will start to bother me also during heavy squats. But it's not really bad where I'm going to puke or anything.

Working legs hard will make almost anyone throw up. I remember some bodybuilders that use to work legs in my gym and kept a trash can next to them for when they puked. I'm too lazy to google the answer for you but maybe Ceaze will and then post it in here.

I don't think there's a complex answer... it's just your legs are made up of big ass muscles and they need a ton of oxygen when you're lifting, so you get light headed much of the time cause there's less oxygen going to your brain... feeling like puking is just a part of that sometimes. And with squats and deads I personally hold my breath through most of the rep so that makes it 10x worse.

If you get a massive upper body and start doing sets of 500lbs for bench and shit, I bet you'll get the same feeling :dunno:

stress response by the body to divert physical attention away from any digestion and redirect blood flow from the intestines to the working muscles. fight or flight response.

Just like a snake, if you walk up while they are eating, they will puke up their food to insure their escape.

I read somewhere once that there are so many large muscles involved, that when they are all producing so much lactic acid and various toxins, it can help contribute to that sicky feeling. Or this could all be total bs and just keep taking those Animal Paks.

no thats is true if your really fucking sore from working out its because of all the lactic acid buildup in your muscles and if you get a massage or work those muscles out it can realease the lactic acid and make you sick but thats kinda after the fact after recovery not imediately after

I guess I'll be the first to ask, how long before your workout are you eating?

yeah except for the fact that lactic acid doesn't "build up" after your workout, it builds up during your workout in the muscle, then is converted back to pyruvate in the presence of available oxygen. By the time you get to your massage, the acid has dissipated and all you feel is microtrauma.
