why is all my extra weight going to my stomach?

    this doesn't really have anything to do with working out or anything but I've been putting on weight lately but I've noticed it's almsot all going straight to my stomach\lowerbody and very little to the rest of my body. Now i have no problem with adding extra weight since I'm only 5'8 165, but I'd rather look heavier overall then skinny with a gut. Am i eating the wrong kind of food or something?

    1) Wrong type of food
    2) Obviously if your not working out, its going to be turned into fat, not muscle.

    like I said, i'm not complaining that it's fat and not muscle.

    so what food should I not be eating? I eat virtually no fast food at all.

    Well, post up your diet? Most likely, your just consuming more food then your burning. Which is why some of it is being deposited.

    But, if you were to modify your diet, i would recomend high protein products, like fish, chicken etc. These tend to 1) fill you up more 2) give you better recovery from sports. 3) help muscle synthesis.

    but imo, its just how much food your consuming versus burning. Do you consider youself 'fit'?

    today i sat down in th edining hall.. on my plate i had 2 grilled chicken breasts, 5 hardboiled eggs and a glass of orange juice..

    these two fatties with plateloads of frenchfries, cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, and a salad with a piece of cake on the side looked at me with the :hsugh: face and asked me "is that all your going to eat? how does that fill you up?"
    i said ":dunno: it fills me up just fine, and gives me more than enough protein for my day"

    nah, my body handles protein very well.. never had protein farts or burps or anything.. never got the fish oil burps either

    well I eat very little meat so i guess I don't get much protein, maybe that messes things up. As for physical activity, I used to play 1+ hour sports every day up until a few months ago, now it's usually once a week but overall I would say that i am fit, I'm definetly not out of shape.

    As for food comsumption, i usually eat no breakfast, ~2 sandwhiches for lunch, dinner and maybe another sandwhich or two at night, so it's not like i'm stuffing my face.

    that sounds like the worst fucking diet ever


    why the hell would you skip breakfast? breakfast starts up your metabolism and gets your body running.. and define "sandwich"... dude it sounds like you need to get your diet in check.. small meals throughout the day > 2 meals a day with no breakfast

    Not me dude. I've been on "the diet" now for a couple of months...and WOOOWEEEE!....I now make myself gag.

    Great when hanging out with the bro's...it's made me legendary. My flatulence intimidates even the gasiest of my friends.

    My wife on the other hand is not nearly as jovial about my new found gas. She wants me to get an enema! :fart:

    cause I don't have time, I like sleep to much so I usually have to get up and scramble to get to school :o

    you cant make time to take care of your body? its the only body you will ever have.. its a temple, treat it as such

    So it sounds to me like your muscles would be rotting, due to not getting consistent protein. Then bulking up the fat in huge clumps of carbs...

    I find it difficult you couldnt justify 5 minutes in the morning to get some food into you.

    Pretty much. If you've gone to the effort of posting on the forums, yet your not willing to follow even the simplest tips, i dont think we could help :dunno:

    Your proberbly losing muscle, due not not feeing yourself enough protein, which in turn is burning less of the kilojules your consuming, which in turn is storing it.

    no breakfast, 2 "sandwiches" for lunch, and "maybe a sandwich or two for dinner" is giving you probably nothing but carbs.. he said he doesnt eat much meat.. kid probably takes in like 30g of protein a day..
