Oh PS3 lulz
i'd probably pay it
I would buy one if I had the cash.
Oh, here you go.
Oh wait that's not wireless I failed twice so I'm giving up.
i've read mixed reviews about those. a lot people complain about hissing or buzzing or something. i would have picked them up if they had better review scores.
the astro a40 sounds good for a wired headset. but $250 wtf.
you realize any bluetooth/usb set will work, right?
You do realize that any Bluetooth/USB headset from target or something or anywhere for that matter will work fine, unlike M$, Sony does not require you to buy some POS mic.
i don't understand how 7.1 surround sound works w/ headsets... ??
I am thinking helmet with speakers around it?
the earpiece covers your entire ear, they probably have separate speaker sections on each part of the piece that correspond to their respective speakers in a 7.1 setup
have this and it is fucking
a guy in the yardsale sold it to me for $100
Turtle beach is garbage. Theyre so overpriced its pathetic and the sound quality is garbage too - pretty much overpowering bass with no sound definition at all. I had the x41s but returned them the next day. You will never get as good sound quality out of a wireless headset than wired. Plus all thei hissing complaints on the x41 is true, it was a deal breaker for me.
I got the tritton ax720s and like many have said its by far the best bang for your buck 5.1 headset. Love it, the sound quality blows away the shitty turtle beachs. And only costed me $130, almost half the price of the shitty X41s.
The 720s is the newer model, and sounds better from what ive read, plus about $40 cheaper. And they look better with the pearl white as opposed to silver. You should look into the AX720s theyre that good, especialyl for $130CDN.
how do you get 5.1 through them? optical cable?
Interesting... oneo would think the more expensive model with more speakers would sound "better"
Optical from the box to the console.
Well the Pros were the older model and a lot of the problems from it were fixed in the 720s. Dont know why the pros charge more to date, makes no sense ha. But one of the deal breakers to me on the Pros was the fact it had so many cables, since you have to hook up 2 boxes to it with 2 AC power plugs and had about 3 wires from the box to your headset - lame. Whereas the 720s only have one box with one small AC plug and one thin wire from the box to your headset. The 720s is a very clean setup.
Sounds good. That wire setup sounds horrid on the Pro model.
There's a huge thread on the avsforums discussing gaming headphones and a lot of talk about the x41 and sx720's. I'm on my blackberry so I can't post the link but ill do it when I get home. Reading tht thread was pretty much what sold me on the trittons. At first I wanted the Asrtos but $100 shipping to canada was a complete joke - and the compamny emailed me back saying they wouldn't cut me any slack on it lol whatever. It would have costed me over $350cdn for those, 2.5x the cost of the trittons!
I read a review of that, they said all kinds of good things about it except for one peculiarity:
If it is anywhere near a wireless access point/router/bridge it goes to shit.
Yea I have the X3 Turtle Beaches. Whilst they resolved the problem I had of needing game sound and voice chat they fucking suck for the money.
The build quality is terrible and they feel like they are constantly trying to rape your ears. I don't think they could have made them more uncomfortable if they tried.
The better more expensive ones are just SO overpriced it's ridiculous
