With a glock, if you have a round in the chamber, drop the mag and rack the slide to eject the chambered round, it'll pop out of the top.. with my XD-9SC, when I do the same procedure, the round just falls outta the mag well..

    why is that?

edit: for clarification, the rounds still eject outta the top when the mag is in it..but not when the mag is removed and i'm just clearing the chamber

Maybe the ejector only makes contact when the mag is in :dunno:

how much velocity care you jamming the slide back with ?

Its just extractor design for the most part, nothing wrong.. just the way it goes

dawt. The round being extracted is being supported by the rounds/follower beneath it until it hits the extractor, remove that support and into the magwell it goes! If you rack the glock slowly enough it can happen there too.

    gravity > you.

It needs that other casing to help eject it upwards and outwards

Just making sure its a design difference between the XD and the Glocks, cuz i know that without a mag, the round still pops out the top with a glock

check the ejector. it could very well be loose, and when the mag is in it is pushing the ejector into the right position
