How many processes do you have running once you've finished booting up?

Should be around 50-60 after all the bloatware has been removed.

What kind of computer do you have? Details?

Fuck, Vista has 60 processes when it's stripped down? My XP machine has 60 processes after I've intentionally crapped it up with shit.

there is a very very slim possibility that deusexaethera may realize that the number of processes doesn't mean fuck squat. get over it, and move on.

Booted up a fresh computer w/ Vista yesterday. After the bloatware removal there are around 60 processes.

Go to blackviper.com and start turning off services you don't need.

normal boot for vista is not that slow.

boot,... once you get to windows, go to event viewer > apps and services log > microsoft > windows > diagnostics-performance

look for log errors/warnings related to boot performance.
the logs should at least tell you or give you an idea what's wrong.

    here's an example:

the problem here is a USB device that is expected to load under 3 seconds, but it took an extra 4 minutes and 16 seconds.
Total Time - Degradation Time = Expected load time.

There is an equally slim possibility that Potty won't automatically disagree with anything I say for some obscure and largely irrelevant technical reason that only matters in .001% of circumstances.

except that .001% always seems to be the OP's scenario... So I'm thinking that .001% is actually more like 80% :mamoru:
