Sell songs on iTunes for $1 each

and then sell an iPod that hols 7500 songs?

Do they think someone is going to spend $7500 to fill their iPod with songs? Or do they know people are going to use it for illegal music!

I think the RIAA should sue them.

they are mac users they paid like 3k for something you could build for like 1k... who's not to believe some of them wouldn't pay 7500 for 7500 mp3s.

a lot people who have ipod own cd, but don't wanna carry that many cd's around. A ipod can take your favorite song or 2 from that cd and put it on there

you guys forget that people burn their own cds (that they bought) and store them on their pcs/ipods because of the convenience and storage capacity of mp3s.

    that's true.

but think of the 15-year old whose parents bought them an ipod.

not likely that they will have the 625+ cd's to fill the ipod

    and even so, 625 cd's * $19 each = $11,875.

    plus $500 for an ipod.

either way, still REALLY HARD to get full usage out of that ipod without downloading illegally.

Apple advertises the ipod with the intent to carry the balk of your cd collection. since itune they have changed their marketing somewhat..

1 dollar is too much. free is too little.. let's comprimise and settle on .25 cent.

    not going to happen
    ~15 songs on a cd
    cd = ~$15

    buck per song

you're looking at CD's being sold for $3.75 if you want them to sell songs for $0.25 which is how it should be if they want people to buy more, but it's not going to happen.

around here, at least, cd's were $15 years ago.

now, a CD - usually 10-12 songs - after tax is about $22.

    BUT

let's say you could download a cd for $1/song, and burn it yourself. then the cd would be like $12, right?

    will NEVER HAPPEN.

the CD medium will cut out the cd manufacturers, the pressing companies, the shipping companies, CD stores, album art people, etc etc.

and, advertising $$ will stay constant.

companies aren't going down that road.

    of course not.

that would be like suing Ford because the trucks it builds can be used to transport drugs.

Of course not. Its not like the video I take with my digital camcorder and edit on my PC takes up massive amounts of space. Its not like programs today take up 2GB to install. Yup, you're right, its not useful for anything else. :slap:
