Been finding myself in F&N more recently, and figured it would be good to know why everyone who posts here frequently works out. Why do you work out? What do you do? What are your goals?
I train for athletic benefits concerning martial arts. Therefore most of my training centers around strength/power and conditioning. I'm not a BBer (fighting weight is 155), but consider myself more of an athlete. I try to stay well rounded, so I use every form of exercise I can. It helps for me to do a lot, because I am a little impatient, and can get bored of a routine quite quickly unless it is quite varied.
Currently I'm in a strength phase, so I'm trying to get my big 3 up (worried most about my DL though) while working towards improving my bodyweight movements. I'm also finishing up my BS in Exercise Science, and am taking examinations for my CSCS certification at the end of this semester.

Because I'm tall as fuck and there's nothing goofier looking than a guy who towers over everyone but has the physique of a #2 pencil... that and the health benefits, it feels good being bigger than 99% of the people you run into, allows me to eat more without getting fat, I could go on :hs:

I'm a little over 6'5" with a really small frame to begin with. My dad is 6' but not much wider than my sister :o

I'm about to have to start buying new clothes because I'm getting too large.

I have a bunch of XL polos that are starting to look like underarmor on me. I was at the bar last weekend that I go to regularly and one of the bouncers said "jesus man lay off the creatine, you're getting STACKED" and today getting my blood pressure checked they had to use a larger cuff because the normal one wouldn't get a proper reading :o

I know what you mean there. Always feel super confident after a workout, especially as far as my sparring is concerned.

This is a small college town... the bouncers here are mostly college kids themselves and none are that huge.

The bouncer was this little asian guy and I probably had at least 100 pounds on him, to him (and you too), I am stacked.

My question is, why is a tiny asian man bouncing?

He's not tiny like scrawny, just short and not jacked. Probably some martial arts nut or something :dunno: there's a lot of bouncers around here that are short and fairly small but people listen to them.

    its fun

  14. Makes me feel good. I started out lifting because I was sick of being "small" (I'm 6'4" but a stick) but then realized how good it felt and that's probably why I'm addicted now. Hitting a PR is very gratifying and the natural feeling you get after lifting is something that nothing else can give you. :dunno: Plus I started seeing good results so that keeps me coming back. I started out benching 95 pounds a few times and now my max is 190.

I lift for myself. It makes me feel confident and overall a stronger runner.

Hitting PRs is very motivational for me as well. I've been slowing down in PRs with weightlifting, but I've been continually hitting them in my conditioning workouts, which has helped me psychologically grind through the tougher ones.

.....I wanna get brolly. Ever since I saw an episode of Dragon Ball Z, where Goku first goes Super Sajin, I wanted to do that. So I figure if I train until I'm 25. (I'm 20 now) I should be able to go super sajin and beat everybody up.

but seriously... I do it because I'm tired of my clothes being tight and nasty on me. i wanna be healthy and have more energy. Plus, all the girls at church are pretty shallow so I'm gonna get thuper thexy and then when they wanna sweat my nuts, I'll say no. butttt seirously, it's so i can be healthier and so I can run faster and be able to defend myself if ever put into a life threatening situation.

I was 6'2 @ 135 lbs and decided I wanted to fill in my frame. 145 lbs later and now I'm finally satisfied where I stand.
