No, it isn't time to see a doctor. Do you get it only when you run in the cold? My throat gets so dry that it actually gets raw and gets some taste of blood in the back of my mouth. Now if it lasts for more than a few minutes after the run or if you get it even in the warm muggy weather, then I would worry a little more.

Actually, after workouts, I've noticed this too. It's a weird kind of taste and breath, like metallic I guess. Doesn't seem unhealthy; more like I've inhaled and exhaled so much over the last hour that I've reached the core areas of my lungs, and this is how they taste. :dunno:

I get that metallic/bloody taste when I run a lot too. I've felt it my whole life I think it's normal.

    Cold makes it worse

It sounds as though a lot of you are experiencing exercise-induced heartburn. There is medication readily available (both OTC and Rx) however I would first evaluate your dietary habits. Here are some tips I was able to gather, I hope they help :)

    - Pass up protein and fat pre-work-out
    - Limit foods that fan the flames
    - Time your meals
    - Control quantity
    - Opt for weakened sports drinks
    - Hydrate heavily
