    Because it's perfection.

  3. I like Glock because it's as close to totally reliable as you can get, it's light compared to other guns, it's got no external safties to screw with, it's basically DAO, so the trigger pull is the same every time, it's comfortable to hold, it's got a lower barrel line in your hand so recoil is felt less, it's reasonably priced, it'll never rust, it's never going to fire if dropped. I'm sure I could think of more reasons.

The highest capacity .45auto they have is the G21. If you put one in the chamber, and fill the mag it'll hold 14.

It's not better than others, just like others aren't better. They are all pretty much the same. It does come down to ergonomics though. The better a gun fits your hand, the more reliable it is and the more accurate it is. The worse it fits your hand, the less reliable and accurate it is.

For some, the Glock fits them very well, for others the Glock's grip angle makes it uncomfortable. I am one of those that can't stand the Glock's shape. I had one issued me for a year as a duty weapon and I finally got them to allow me to switch to a 1911 which I find much more comfortable and natural for my hand.

Other than that, they are just another high end reliable pistol like all the other manufacturers out there.

i would reccomend fireing a lot of guns before you make your choice. I fired 5 (4 of which in the same day) different handguns before i bought my first one. I shot 3 Sigs, 2 Glocks, and a springfield XD. I liked the glocks a lot but preferred the way the sig felt in my hand.

    I <3 my G19

It is the most comfortable gun I've fired. Although my friend just got a HK USP .45 compact and it fits my hand nicely too, havent shot it yet though.

  9. I must say, though, Ruger's logo is way cooler.

I got my Glock because everyone else has one, and I wanted to be like everyone else. :ugh:

Actually, I got my Glock because of their reputation as a superb firearm and above superb company, and for how much they stand behind their product.
    Unlike some companies, like Taurus.

I've never had anything against them personally, I just don't shoot them well/comfortably. I don't see many other options for a subcompact sized 10mm though. So I'd like a G29 someday.

Some would argue that they pass insane torture tests, where other pistols fail.

Unless you want to spend a shitload of cash Glock is really the only option for a reliable 10mm compact or full size.

    I  my 29

There was a thread about it a loooong time ago, the XD was sumberged in water, sand, mud, extreme temperatures and torture tested, plus something crazy like a 10k round torture test. Zero malfunctions of any kind, same as the glock.
