When we shoot guns in the backyard, the neighbors don't get pissed about the guns, they get pissed about the noise.

Because you can kill easily without being detected.

If they sold suppressors at Wally World, I think the rate at which crimes were solved would decrease.

Because only deadly criminals have suppressors, and by eliminating them, we eliminate those dangerous, stealthy criminals........

i don't know off the top of my head, but it's good manners to shoot with a suppressor and they're like 30-50 bucks. downside is you won't have a cool gun to put it on, b/c it's harder to get something like an AR or AK.

Suppressors in other countries aren't that cheap. They're cheaper, but they're also more commonly produced, so production costs are lower. There's also no $200 tax stamp, but it's not like a $600 suppressor from here would cost you $100 there. They also don't always make suppressors to the same suppression and durability standards there as they do here, so it costs less for materials. The overhead is likely different as well, since they don't have to pay a shitload of money to comply with NFA laws like dealers and manufacturers do here.

Also, suppressors here, you're paying for the R&D. The actual cost of materials is under $50 for pretty much any suppressor you'd ever want to buy. The big cost is all the R&D it took to design the suppressor, make it reliable, make it durable, make it accurate, and reduce the amount of POI shift that the suppressor causes. Over there, they've been doing it for a while, it's more common, and my general impression is that suppressors can range in quality there from the crappy to the fucking awesome, and will likely cost accordingly.
