    My ISP sucks ass.

i'm trying supernews and eternews now. 3gb/month for $5.95 and 1gb/day for $9.95 respectively. Supernews is definitely more complete, but both are much better than my ISP.

    Good deals? Better out there?

i use my isp. it rocks. sweet speeds (300-400kbs) always updated. and they dont hold it against me as downloading or uploading cause its internal :big grin:

    its shaw btw

  3. giganews is about as good as you're going to get for rentention vs. price. i used to use usenetserver and it was ok but they had their problems also... they may have all that ironed out by now. easynews is also good and has only one rate, 9.98 for 6 gigs per month. supernews is ok but i've heard that they've been having problems with their peering.

i'd stay away from anything related to newsfeeds, they suck. period.

I have a news server through my college. They have some binary groups, but the retention on them is like 20 minutes.

:werd: works great - they say there is a 1.5BG limit on downloads for any 30 day period but I have never had a problem downloading more

they are still a relatively small isp so they have no caps on anything. Look at my speed. It's great. I hope they never get big like comcast or anything. That's when limits start being set and so forth.

If you're not a heavy downloader, astraweb offers a good plan where you get 25GB for $10. No speed caps, unlimited connections, and your purchased bandwidth doesn't expire. When you run out, you pay another $10 for another 25GB.
