So whats the deal on these? Is the supply really running out? I am looking at getting one from CMP when my C&R arrives but am wondereing if I could wait a year or so to get one and get some other stuff first. Is the price going to go up or is it just uneducated speculation?

The supply to CMP starting to get low, to many people buying a bunch of them then reselling for higher, you dont need the c&r to get one from them either. I'de probably get the Garand first, probably wont be a couple more years till CMP runs dry but they may increase there prices on them in the meantime. Once CMP is out of them the prices will definently be higher, people are already selling rack grade ones for $200 more then CMP charges.

I just want to wait till my C&R comes through so I dont have to pay the FFL fee. I sent it in a week ago and now I just need to join a gun club. The only one they have listed though is about 1.5 hrs away. There are other ranges I go to but I dont think CMP recognises them because they are just ranges and not gun clubs that hold events.

Prices on Garands are BS these days. The market is flooded with them and surplus parts. No need for all these outrageous prices.

Last time I was at CMP, they had 50,000+ guns in storage still needing to be inventoried and another 30,000 overseas waiting to be shipped. If they're already running low. That's amazing.

I didnt get my Garand through CMP but from what I understand if you were a member of a club you can skip the FFL stuff somehow, not sure how that works hopfully someone who has bought one through them can chime in. I know theres a garand collectors club online you can join for $30 or $35 and it meets your club requirments for CMP and you dont have to attend any events.

Where else can you get them for a reasonable price? I have looked everywhere but CMP is the cheapest I have found

I believe that CMP ships the guns directly to the person. Not sure though.

If you're a current serviceman, veteran, and maybe even a police officer or retired law enforment. You don't have to worry about the club thing.

And they'll still ship to your door.

They do, you have to meet the requirements though. I already do because I have had live fire gun training, but am waiting on my C&R anyways because I dont know what happened to my training cert

We went to the storage depot in Anniston. And spent 3 days helping with inventory and sorting.

The entire facitkity was stacked as high as it could with old HK G-3 shipping boxes 20 rifles to each box. The entire warehouse was full.

    About 3 yrs ago now.

Really no where. Gun shows and online auction sites are full of it. Everyone thinks their garand is something special and want to much.

CMP is the only way to go for reasonable prices.
