Bought the Z71 about a month ago. It was bone stock when I got it. Have focused on dressing it up outside a little since, so added stainless steel step-bars to make it easier for my wife and kids to get in, added the EGR polycarbonate bug guard to protect against rock chips and other road debris on my daily commute, bought the stainless Z71 front license tag (bling) and yesterday my new wheels arrived.

They're American Racing's Diamond Back wheels in 16x8 and "diamond cut" polished / clearcoated finish.

Next up the truck is getting a slightly more agressive sounding muffler welded into the stock exhaust. I think dual exhaust tends to make these trucks look like bubba mobiles, so I'll stick with the single corner exit like GM gave it.

Oh, paint color is Indigo Blue Metallic from what I've been told. Can't find anything to confirm or refute that -- maybe someone here knows? I've put two coats of Meguiar's NXT wax on it since owning it, which really made the paint's subtle color hues come to life.

Anyway, I think it looks pretty good. :dunno:

if you really wanted to clean up the looks on the exhaust, just have them dump it after the muffler

Nah, too much drone inside the cab that way. I had dumps on my GT for a while and it got real old, real quick.

Gibson makes a side exit exhaust for Chevy pickups. A guy I know has a newer Sierra with a 4.8 and it sounds good and not too loud.

nice truck! My only gripe is the tires; I don't particularly care for the LTX M/S'

Yeah, we had about 14" of actual snowfall this past Weds and Thurs and I encountered a few blown drifts that were about 3' deep in places. The truck itself had no trouble with the snow but the tires were really lacking. M/S is not a very accurate designation for these tires.

Thinking seriously about buying a set of the new Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO tires tomorrow. Probably go with 275/70R16 to get a little wider footprint per tire than the current 265's give.

I have the Revos on my Tahoe and I love them, but being in the south, I dont know whow they would do in the snow, but in rain they do awesome.

    By way of an update...

I ditched the Michelin LTX M/S today and put a set of new Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo tires on the truck. The new tires have a hell of a better tread on them than the Michelins did and overall I am pleased -- although I've only driven maybe 10 miles since having them put on. ;)

The tires just look better on the truck than the Michelins did, and we're due for some rainy weather over the next few days so I will know more about the wet road handling afterward. I'm quite sure they will do just fine.

They are a little noisier than the Michelins but I expected that as it's just part of having an A/T tire on your vehicle. I had the previous generation Duelers on my old Jeep Grand Cherokee and they were a little noisy too at times. I don't see it as a negative point in the least.

Nope. Bedrails are functional for tie-down points and the moldings keep asshats from door dinging me at the grocery store.
