I never have bruises or cuts on my shins from deads

No cuts, just bruises where the bar hit my knees on the way down. The one on my shin might be from something else. And this was from my first time doing them so I think my form was a bit off. It's getting better though.

once you get to those ridiculous amounts of weight you gotta let it slide on your shins like that? christ. oh well, good thing my shins are pretty conditioned :ugh2:

straps = something to use for better grip

So you have material around your wrist and a stretch of that material extends from it. You wrap that stretch a few times around the barbell and you grip the barbell with the wraps on it. Makes the barbell less likely to drop from your hands.

Oh and thanks for the link, I missed it the first time around

I only rub my legs a bit right above the knee with the bar on the way down occassionally.

The humidity here in Florida is making me think about straps, but I have some chalk coming in soon. My grip has been slipping on my last work set for the 2 weeks I've been down in Florida.

Vid of you doing 600+ sans straps?

I was thinking about getting straps for DB shrugs.

how much does that guy weight, i pulled 500x1 chalked and 455x3 chalked. @ 198.

anyways, wait for the chalk, your weights will shoot up so quick and you will have nice battle callouses to show off. ....straps tend to decrease grip strength. im sur ehe can pull 600 for a good single probably.

My gym doesn't allow for chalk .....I guess it's to messy but I see alot of these big lifts people aren't using the sumo stance i feel thats the only way i can get alot of weight up.
