keep in mind though... Gold's gyms are franchised and prices can vary from area to area by a significant amount.

yeah i just realized this, i called 3 of them in my area and all different prices

one said $419 intial startup + 20 bucks a month

the other said 100 initial startup

but in the end it will all average out, if you stay with them long term ...

he also said some of the golds dont allow you to use other golds even in the same city. :wtf:

Yup... but all the Gold's in my county are owned by the same owner. So we have access to all of them.

But I only use one of them anyways.

definately negotiate. Most places will drop the start up fee if you haggle with them enough.

    I just went over there

i couldn't haggle the price down, i guess i suck at negotiating

419 intial minus 100 bucks for college student

    or zero down 32.99 month.

    however

my mom said that her place of employment will reimburse her if she uses an outside gym (to promote physical well being :ugh:) so shes going to sign up and im going to use her account :bigok:

If you can pay in full for the year, they'll usually drop any initiation fee... I can't remember the exact number, but I paid a little less than $400 for the whole year which comes out to around $30/month. I'd rather have it out of the way than have yet another monthly bill.

I paid 129 for 3 months. Is Gold's pretty "hardcore" compared to the rest of the corporate gyms? There sure are a lot of bigger guys here compared to the old 24 hour one I used to go to. I feel like a little whore, especially since I am going to start weighing even less soon.
