A Photo professor at my school offered me this:

2x White Lightning Ultra Zap 1600 strobes
    2x Stands
    2x Soft Boxes
    2x Reflectors
    all cables, boxes, etc.

For $750. He said he's getting out of the studio game and just plans to teach.

Thoughts? Good deal? Wife will prolly murder me if I buy more shit...

Also, lemme know if any of you guys are interested.

PICK THEM UP. they are discontinued model. so you should be able to get them a little cheaper. X1600's are the new ones

white-lightnings are the next step up from Alien bees.

Paul C Buff products go in this order.

    Alien Bees
    White Lightnings
    Zeus

( not exact sure where the Einstein falls yet )

White lightnings use pretty much the same circuitry as the AB's but have a extra 1-2 stops in output to play with. better fan, better overall casting ( alumi versus plastic ), faster refresh and some other things

I'm not sure I'm going to do this. I don't shoot in a studio much, if at all. I honestly don't think I would use them that much. I'd probably benefit from another Nikon Speedlight and some Radiopopper Studio's more, so I think i'm going to spend my $$ on that.

If any of you guys are interested, let me know and we can work out the sale through me.

The stuff is in decent condition. The lights appear to be in great condition, the stands are so-so, and the diffusers and rings are meh.

actually, depending on what stands and what softboxes he has, it may not be a good deal. Ultrazap 1600 are worth bout 250 each now a days.

You don't need to shoot in a studio to benefit from them.
