Went to MEPS today. Got the "over 40" version, complete with KY and the middle finger prostate stroke. :naughty: By 3pm I was going over career choices. Lots of options, but since I already have a career, skills, etc, I decided to fuck it and go with something I've always wanted to do: blow shit up! :eek5: By 4:30 I was swearing to uphold the constitution, the president's balls, and everything else that is sacred and holy to our country. :wavey:

cliffs: 46 year old prior service goes to the store for milk and comes home with E5, $15K signing bonus, KY smeared on his buttcheeks, and six years of indentured service to the man. :eek3:

No boot camp, but I do have to go to WTC (Warrior Transition Course) for 30 days. I'm scheduled to ship on January 30th, but I'm going to try to get that pushed back at least a month to give me some time to work it out with my current job.

My Air Force son is like :ugh: and my Army son is like :coolugh:.

And while I'm at it, my ...

My younger sister is solid. She's the wife of an Army Major, and has fired more different types of weapons than myself and my two sons combined. Mom and my older sister are diehard liberals and fully expect me to die. They are probably even now working on the press release they will hand out to blame my death on Bush. My sons are used to me and are cool with anything I do that doesn't directly embarrass them. But I would say that John (Army son) is the most supportive of me going into the Army (although he has told me many times that I should hire on with KBR if I want to go to Iraq).

My gf has been very successful at doing everything in her power to ignore anything that has ever been said about the US ever going to war with anyone.

    tree fiddy :hsd:

Yup. I'll be filling an E-6 slot, so I should put on SSgt fairly soon. Assuming I don't get a busted hip or something. :mamoru:

    :kdubbd:

WTC is a month at Ft. Knox, KY. Any MOS training will be at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.

Speaking of busted bones: When my son went through Combat Engineer MOS training, he fractured his thibia. And another guy had a compound fracture of his femur. :noes:

I don't plan on breaking anything. Except a sweat. :x:
