I don't mean you online journal. I mean who carries a notebook to the gym with them to record every single lift? I think people have forgoten how good of a tool this is.

I haven't been doing it for a while, but I remember the weights/sets/reps I did, and how they felt for long enough to put them in my log when I get home.

been using one for 3 years now. and ya, it is a great tool

Between work and home, I've got enough running through my head that I don't need to be trying to remember how much I b/p'd a week or 2 before.

Yeah, that is what I do. I keep an excel spreadsheet and my online log updated every day that I work out.

Done so for the last 6 years.

So, the ones that don't but keep an online journal here anyway, just memorize it?

I usually only do about 4 exercises a workout, so it's quite easy to remember.

they think they do but have no idea how much detail they're losing. They don't have the ability to take down notes on particular wieghts. I'm sure they really remember every single detail of their workout. Every fucking weight from 15-20 sets, how many reps, and everything.

no it's more like I'm sure they don't give a flying fuck about every single rep and every single fucking set, just important ones

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that I can remember that. If it's something worthwhile, I'll write it in my log

I always remember my weights/reps/sets etc. Good memory or just dedication. Take your pick. And online is the only place I keep a journal.

Yes, it is NO problem whatsoever to remember such simple details when you have a fairly simple routine and you go home immediately after the gym. I have an excellent short term memory that allows me to remember much in great detail but fails me over the long term (several months).

Exactly. I remember the exercises, sets, and reps I did. I adjust what I do during the workout, which helps me remember how I felt during each exercise. The stuff I memorize and put in my log is the same shit I would write down when I carried a notebook. I don't care about the little details, since I'm not at the level that they matter. I care about my form, exercise & volume selection, and adding weight to the bar. Therefore, I remember the shit that is important to those things.

well that's cool. I'm not smart enough to remember those details. More power to you if you can.
