    1. illegal in california to own an assault rifle.

    2. limitations placed on getting a legal AR-15 makes it pointless

    3. no range longer than 100 yards within 200 miles of me

I don't own one simply because it's a pain in the ass with gun laws in Mass.
    Perhaps when I get out.

I don't have one. Why? I'm too poor right now. Probably when I get back i'll grab something along the lines of an m16 and a pistol

I own a Ruger 10/22 and have an M1 Garand coming shortly. Remmy 700 will be in my near future as well.

M4, Sig P226, HK P2000, Colt .380, .357mag, .38spl, Remington 700 .30-06. I own them because I like weapons, its a fun hobby, its a skill necessary to my job, protection etc. Still need to turn 21 though so I can get my CCW.

i own a sig p229 .40 handgun, that's it for now. i might get a rifle down the road.

i enjoy shooting, but it's just an occasional hobby for me, with a secondary use (home defense) that i'm sure i'll never have to use.

I own a S&W .357 Magnum (Revolver), .12 guage shotgun (don't remember make/model, and it's up in the attic since I haven't fired it in a very long time), and a Winchester model 94 30-30 Rifle.

My first weapon was a Stevens .22 Rifle (bolt action, single shot). It will always be my favorite, if only for the memories. I miss it. :hs:

You are a dependant, if you ever decide to goto bootcamp and possibly graduate once you live in the barracks those will either stay at mommies house or be checked into the Armory (where they will fucked with and never cleaned by the armorers) indeffintley unless you get stationed anywhere besides CONUS where owning of firearms is illegal period.

I was told that I can just get an airconditioned storage unit off base and keep everything there, of course this doesn't apply if i'm overseas or anything though - or even worse... get stuck in California :noes:.

Offbase you can do whatever you want with them but the minute they go on base they get checked into the armory. And I hope you aren't too concerned with going to Cali, as a boot you'll only have three choices anyways and if you want to be infantry the last place you want to get stuck is III MEF.
