It's funny, they used to be renowned marksmen and the British used to be scared to death of snipers with jezails or captured/stolen Martinis and Enfields.

A scrimmage in a Border Station
A canter down some dark defile
    Two thousand pounds of education
    Drops to a ten-rupee jezail.

Just be aware. Harry Flashman is -the- quintessential antihero. But the real treat for you, I think, is going to be Fraser's portrayal of historical characters, which he sets in Flashman's fiction with a textbook accuracy. All of his character depictions are cited, and interesting reads in themselves.

Damn, how does the taliban keep their kicks so white? I get scuffs and marks on my white sneakers just leaving the store.

When you have limited ammunition capacity and very low rate of fire you make your shots count
